Monday, November 07, 2005 James Somerville - Scottish Artist  I was contacted today by James Somerville, a Scottish artist of some standing. I had seen and enjoyed his work in the past and it was lovely today to be able to delve through the James Somerville website and see his recent work. James does not clutter the website with text, instead allowing the images to do the talking. There is an information page at the end of the site linking to some of the many galleries where you can view his work. The painting above was my favourite from the site: "East Neuk Houses". So much power comes into the painting from the dark sky with the almost pastel coloured foreground, it really took my breath away.
