Bovine Art in Edinburgh

I had heard about this a few weeks ago - painted cows appearing all over Edinburgh - but it hadn't really registered until I was driving up Lothian Road yesterday and saw a mini-herd of rather brightly coloured cows posing in the square.

I love this kind of stuff. It engages people, even if they only see it and smile. Some will take photos and most will tell people they know about the cows. It's art that brightens people's day and we could all use more of that.

Turns out it's run by Cow Parade which provides a showcase for local artists (on the cows) then auctions off the works at the end of the display period for charity. They are running them all over the world and probably making a lot of people smile.
